Have you looked at the imagestation pics of her? Also, American_Mommy has a really good pic of her in her signature. I think she is so much cuter in the "real" pictures that our board members took.
I finally got my new catalouge today. Now that I have gotten a good look at her catalouge pictures, I think I might hold off on getting Jess for awhile. I'd hate to fall in love with her after I can't get her for the normal price, but I also don't want to buy her knee jerk when there's a half dozen other AGs I would really love to have in her place! To me her face doesn't look right. And to be honest I'm not impressed with her collection at all. The only thing I like is her pjs. Am I the only one having second thoughts on Jess?

No, you're not the only one who's disappointed in the way Jess looks, but I haven't commented yet since so many board members are happy and excited about her--I didn't want to rain on anyone's parade.
To me, her face looks like a composite, without the "flow" (for lack of a better word) that the other, older facemolds have. Her features don't seem to work together in one face. I'd also hoped she would look a little more Asian, but she just seems a bit "plain", without as happy a smile as the previous dolls.
Just my humble opinion--not meant to discourage those who like (or LOVE) Jess. I won't be getting her myself, but I hope everyone who wants her gets her, and enjoys having her.

Oh I didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade! Isn't that why there's 26 different AGOTS? Because we all have different tastes? I'm glad that some people are thrilled with her and I really do hope they enjoy having her, despite whether I decide to add her to my collection or not.

I was at AGPNY yesterday and may be it is because the place was mobbed and I had a pinched nerve in my back, but I did not see anything I liked!
What follows is my very personal own opinion, no need to fret! It is good that there are different things for different people!
Jess looks like a chipmunk with indigestion! She has weird cheeks and a funny set of teeth. Her complexion was sooo pale it hurt. Also her broken hair part is going to be a nightmare to keep tidy.
Her canoe looks like a beachball, and I have all reason to believe it was designed by the people of the AG hospital. No matter how big a sign you put on the box, those dollies are heading for the tub or the pool... and for head replacement right after that due to rusted eyes! What were they thinking!
The only thing I liked (more or less) is the palm tree thingy, but since I have no room for big items, we'll pass on that too.

You are not alone. I like Jess, but don't love her. She is not a must have for me. I like her meed skirt and PJ's. I'll have to see if she grows on me.
I wasn't going to say anything either, but I'm afraid I'm also not too taken with Jess. I think for me the problem is that she looks like a "smiling Kaya" as someone put it. I'm used to Kaya's face being Kaya's, so Jess's just looks wrong. I haven't had a chance to look at anyone's albums, though, so that may help me warm up to her. We'll see...

I do like her. I don't know if we'll get her, but I think I'd like to.
I do have a question about her "paleness." I noticed that in my catalog (I got yesterday!). Is her body paler than the other tan ones? It sort of looked that way to me in her swimsuit. Are there any others who are different colors? (other than the African American ones).
I think Jess is really cute, but I won't be getting her. I have AGT25 and they look VERY similar in my opinion. I might like to read Jess' book, her story seems very interesting.
I do like Jess' meet outfit a lot. There's not any way to get it seperately is there? I also like her pj's a lot and will probably end up getting them for my AGT. I'm not a huge fan of the doll bathing suits either. They're cute, but I don't like all of their cloth and stiches to show so much. [img]rolleyes.gif[/img]
